I've been a fan of hockey for a long time, although the work stoppage of a few years ago really dashed my interest for a bit. It's been coming back for me and last year I was really into the Kings again. So, I'm really glad that hockey is back (couldn't care less about basketball).
With that being said, I think the aging/maturing/beastification of San Jose Sharks player Brent Burns is amazing. He starts out as a young, innocent-looking kid in 2005 and by 2013 looks like he could star in his own commercial for Jack Links Beef Jerky (the 2014 projection may be spot on). The Angels have spent gazillion dollars (on Hamilton...etc.), doing what I always despised about the Yankees--buying a championship (which remains to be seen!) To punish them I refuse to be their fan for an appropriate amount of time. I will have nothing to do with them until at least April! That'll show em!
ReplyDeleteThat made me laugh. I know what you mean. I have been a Dodgers fan for a long time, and the last few years that the McCourts have owned them has been tough. I too have despised the Yankees for buying championships, but was extremely pleased when the new owners bought the Dodgers. We haven't even started the new season and I am already having mixed feelings about it. I think I'm going to try to enjoy this first year and let my principles take a backseat (somewhat). Something tells me I won't make it as far as I'd like.
